We designed a new cutting engine with exceptional levels of precision tolerance.
This design reduces “play” between the parts of the engine to a minimum, virtually eliminating section chatter and susceptibility to external vibration.

These are the only ultramicrotomes with the patented Power Drive® technology.
When gravity fails, the powered cutting stroke has enough strength to cut through even hard, non-homgenous specimens.

- Two piece construction with sectioning unit and controls separated.
- Four sectioning channels, each with its own programmable button for section thickness.
- Arm rests for convenient and safe support of the operator's hands for precision manipulation of sections.
- Fully adjustable stereomicroscope and overhead fluorescent lamp to adjust for differing resin requirements and water levels.

- High precision arc segment holder with ranges from 0-45° or +/- 22.5° with self-locking controls
- Smooth, precise knife stage micrometer drives with marked increments of 0.5 and 5.0 microns
- Digital approach with user selectable increments, for novice and advanced users alike.
- Bright, wide angle stereomicroscope with 3X zoom, range from 10.08X to 64X with 16X eyepieces.
- Rigid trimming system for large or hard samples, very useful for JB-4 or materials samples.
- 3 year limited warranty on the cutting arm system available with the PT-XL.
Advanced Features for Ultramicrotomy
Section counter, Feed totalizer
Section counting and feed totals are useful to those doing 3D reconstruction or calculating cell thicknesses or distance into cell structures.
10um Automatic Sectioning Thickness
If your work involves thick plastic sections for LM, Confocal, FTIR then 10um automatic section thickness is very important. The operator can do multiples of 10um thickness with a touch of a button as well.
RS232 port
The RS232 port is available for those who want to address data logging or computer interfacing.

Training
In the last 10 years we've run many workshops in cryomicrotomy and immunolabeling all over the world, spreading the knowledge of how this technique is advancing science.
RMC has run several materials science workshops in conjunction with the University of Arizona, Tucson to further the knowledge of Ultramicrotomy in materials.
Service
We have a knowledgeable service staff that come to your laboratory to check out your system and help you with any questions. We do installations and training, from novice to expert, and can assist you to get off to a successful start.
Applications
We maintain a support staff and equipment in Tucson. A PhD researcher is available to discuss your application in detail. We have a TEM to inspect sections and help us answer questions about your samples.
